WWE WrestleMania 36

Preview for an event labelled “Too big for one night!”

With everything going on in the world right now, WWE’s long awaited road to WrestleMania ends this weekend, when for the first time in its history, WrestleMania will be hosted over 2 days over the upcoming weekend, i.e. April 4th & 5th, 2020. So mark your calendars and buckle up for this amazing ride since it will be an event unlike any other!

For everyone sitting in the comfort of their homes, WWE made it a point to continue with the saying “the show must go on” and even though WrestleMania is known for its much larger than life experience of hosting pro-wrestling matches in stadiums and huge arenas, this year they will have to host it behind closed doors in their very own, WWE Performance Centre or the PC as is more commonly known.
It is a kind of homecoming, with life coming fill circle for the majority of the talent on the roster since most of them have graduated through the doors of the PC and have always dreamed of being on the card of WrestleMania! Fortunately for the WWE, they have the majority talent even living within a short distance of the PC in Orlando, Florida.
The road to WrestleMania has had its share of roadblocks and detours with all the live events getting cancelled because of the virus scare all across. The recent TV tapings have also needed to be done with no live-audience and behind closed doors. There have been travel issues and no real matches taped more recently, with both Raw and Smackdown showing matches from previously taped PPV shows to fill up their time.
I am personally excited about multiple matches this year, although it has been a weird few weeks seeing the storylines develop without the presence of any fans at the WWE PC.
In no particular order, lets start with the preview of what we can expect from this year’s WrestleMania coming live (or pre-taped?) this weekend from Orlando, Florida.

1.       NXT Women’s Title: Rhea Ripley (c) vs Charlotte Flair
I am yet to wrap my head around this match since for the first time ever, we see a Royal Rumble winner challenge for a developmental title (with NXT being the developmental brand) and not the premier title on either of the main shows, Raw and Smackdown.
Don’t get me wrong, I am absolutely in awe of Rhea Ripley and have followed her ever since her time with NXT UK, winning the inaugural NXT UK Women’s title a few years ago. She has decimated every single superstar she has crossed paths with, winning the NXT title which she holds currently from Shayna Baszler!
Charlotte Flair, on the other hand, is a very well decorated superstar, an 11-time women’s champion, across NXT, Raw and Smackdown, and even main evented last year’s WrestleMania! This puts her in a unique place, having nothing to prove to anyone and less so to an up and coming talent like Rhea Ripley who is 23 years old and only debuted on TV in October 2017.
WrestleMania is called the show of shows for a reason, and this match is what has made me excited the most since I have no idea who to predict to win the NXT title which has become all the more important ever since NXT started airing live on the USA Network and is getting established now more like a third WWE brand taking on AEW Dynamite programming head to head on Wednesdays, the new Wednesday Night Wars as its popularly called.
My prediction for this match: Rhea Ripley.
Now, before you call me for bullshit, I love the character of Rhea and have been a fan since the first time I saw her on WWE. This match will be the perfect passing of the torch from Charlotte to Rhea who is 10 years her senior in age. It is also a way for NXT to cement itself as a legitimate third brand in the WWE, since it needs to establish stars which could draw money for them, and Rhea is the perfect one to be portrayed as the top female on the roster.

2. WWE Title: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
The second person to challenge for a title coming out as a winner in this year’s Royal Rumble match, is Drew McIntyre. If the Royal Rumble match was an award for the person with the best overall performance in the previous year it would have been Drew McIntyre.
Drew has had an absolutely amazing 2019-20 and is very well deserving of a title shot for the most prestigious title in all of sports entertainment and looking at his recent run, he does look like he can tame the beast, i.e. Brock Lesnar.
Brock has not had a legitimate threat to his title ever since he won it this past year from Kofi Kingston in a squash match on Smackdown’s premiere on FOX Network. His typical rivals like Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman on Raw have become stale and he needed a new superstar to feud with. Drew falls perfectly in place with a fresh rivalry and having dominated Lesnar in the Royal Rumble match this January.
On the one hand, Brock has been booked to be an absolute beast in the last 5 years with the Raw’s top title adorning his waist. Drew McIntyre has gone from being the chosen one who was fired from the WWE in 2014 to rising from the ashes, like a phoenix, coming back to WWE in 2017 and working his way back up to main eventing the Grandest Stage of Them All.
My prediction: Brock Lesnar retains.
I am a big fan of how the beast has been booked as a prized fighter and his 500+ days as the Universal Champion heading into last year’s WrestleMania was a clear indication of him dropping the title just like how most of the readers of this page would feel about him dropping the title to Drew. I would have predicted the same way especially with how McIntyre has been shown to be fearless of anyone, including the beast himself.
But this year is unlike any ‘normal’ year. There is no immediate European tour to look forward to at the moment, neither is there any live events coming up. Even the upcoming PPVs like the Money in The Bank which has originally been scheduled for May 10, 2020 looks to get indefinitely postponed, with the latest news dropping just this morning about Florida announcing a statewide shutdown and WWE not being an ‘essential’ service.
And so, a part time champion like Brock Lesnar does make sense to keep the title heading out of WrestleMania this year.

3. WWE Universal title: Goldberg (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Spear vs spear. Old vs New. WCW vs WWE. Old dog vs the Big Dog.
There are multiple ways in which this match has been promoted, with both of these gentlemen being ex footballers from Georgia and having a similar style of wrestling with Spear being a common finishing move too.
But what makes it the most interesting is that this is a dream match for so many, with Goldberg himself acknowledging this fact at his Hall Of Fame induction speech a few years ago! When Roman debuted in the WWE, his rise to the top as the next face of the WWE drew comparison to how Goldberg debuted in WCW back in the day and made his way to the top. Both have been absolutely dominating forces in pro-wrestling and worthy of holding the top prize on WWE’s blue brand, SmackDown.
This fight, if it happens (there have been sources commenting on Roman dropping out of this match since he has recently fought cancer and may have a compromised immune system with the coronavirus threat looming large), will be a tough one and the results will be surprising.
My prediction: Roman Reigns (or whoever replaces him!)
The sole reason why Goldberg was brought back to carry the title was to drop against a face which need to be established as the top dog. Roman Reigns came back from his leukaemia scare earlier last year and had momentum going for him ever since. He has been cheered ever since his return to the squared circle and the fans are finally behind him.
Having defeated legends like the Undertaker and Triple H on the showcase of the immortals, Roman looks to continue his dominance on the WWE defeating Goldberg and retiring him once and for all, winning the ultimate prize on SmackDown is like the cherry on top of all of this, since both the superstars do not need a title around their waists to actually show their value.
If this does happen, it would be a match to look forward to unlike any other.

4. Raw Women’s Title: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Shayna Baszler
We can predict a pro-wrestling match but how is one supposed to predict a fight?
Becky and Shayna are both badass females looking for each other’s blood. I am a fan of both these women and previewing this match is the toughest of them all.
On the one hand we have Becky Lynch, who has been on the most incredible run of all time as the Raw Women’s Champion after beating Shayna’s mentor Ronda Rousey at last year’s WrestleMania’s headline match, closing the show winning both the women’s titles! She is a 4-time women’s champion in the WWE and her current reign as the Raw women’s champion is the longest reigning in the title’s history at 361+ days as of the writing of this article. Over the last year, she has defended her title against everyone on Raw and hence her opponent makes perfect sense for this year’s show of shows.
On the other side, we have Shayna Baszler, fresh from NXT, fondly known as the queen of spades from her time in MMA. Her last run in NXT consisted of her being the NXT Women’s champion for over a year, i.e. a massive 416 days!  She defeated 5 other female superstars in the Elimination Chamber match to make her eligible to challenge for the title.
Both these women are on course to make each other cry, taking a shot on the other each time they seem distracted, with Shayna even biting Becky’s neck to make her bleed, and Becky taking chair shots on her opponent at every chance she got!
My prediction: Becky Lynch.
I just typed and deleted the names twice, before typing Becky Lynch as The Man looks in good enough form to beat her opponent at the moment. She has the WWE Universe behind her and still gets the rightful cheers from all audiences worldwide. Winning this match would cement her legacy as one of the GOAT and puts her in the league of legends like Brock Lesnar and John Cena with their year long title runs.
Shayna Baszler does look to graduate to being on Raw full-time going ahead, and a title win would help her cement her place on the female roster, but the timing does not look right to me, and defeating the Raw title holder without having a single match for any of the premiere shows (Raw and/or SmackDown) just does not feel right to me. She has a great career on the main roster ahead of her and unless any of the 4 horsewomen of MMA come to her aide and make her look weak in the process, I cannot think of any reason why she should win.

5. John Cena vs. "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt
Oh wow, we get this match again! This time it's a “Firefly Fun House match” as the gimmick goes. And why did I use the word ‘again’ is because we have seen John Cena and Bray Wyatt battling it out against each other at WrestleMania XXX in 2014!
The story has been built something like this, after losing to Cena in 2014, Wyatt has had a downward spiralling career till date and Wyatt blames Cena for everything.
My pick: "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt
John Cena has not been an active part of the WWE for the last 2 years or so and has become a part timer filling up the cards for important events like WrestleMania, so it should not come as a surprise to anyone watching this match that it would not be your usual Super-Cena match but more like a once-in-a-year spectacle like the Undertaker matches in recent times. But unlike the Undertaker, John Cena does not have an impressive WrestleManis record to boast about and is more open to doing the favour to an up and coming superstar like Bray Wyatt!
Honestly, I am still not able to digest why Bray had to drop the Universal title at SuperShowdown in Saudi earlier this year, and that too to a old timer like Goldberg, since John Cena returning from his hiatus to challenge Bray for the title would have made for a more interesting storyline from my perspective, but nevertheless, we appreciate what we get. Cena makes anyone who he shares the ring with look absolutely amazing and Bray needs the rub on such a big stage like WrestleMania this year.

6. SmackDown Women’s title: Bayley (c) vs. Lacey Evans vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks vs. Tamina
Now let’s see, we have the champion Bayley (short hair, rough attitude, no more fun loving and RIP Bayley buddies) defending her title against 4 of her fiercest rivals on the blue brand. Sounds like an epic match in the making, right? Wrong.
SmackDown build this match up with the help of former GM and former Diva’s champion, Paige just walking into the show and confronting Bayley to let her know about her decision to have her defend her title at the showcase of the immortals! Now I am not aware about who gave her the power to actually make this happen, but all I am complaining is about the fact that this is the same title which was defended in last year’s edition’s main event and this year it became an after-thought.
All these women have had amazing character runs and my prediction about this one’s outcome will probably shock you (and no it is not the best friend ditches her best friend for the title, so not Sasha Banks ofcourse!) as much as I am prepared to be shocked while watching the actual match.
My pick: Lacey Evans
I know. I know. I really do know. You are probably thinking, really? Really? REAAAALLY?
Hear me out once before you start trolling me. I am a big fan of Sasha Banks and she would make a fabulous champion defeating Bayley, and she does have a long over due title run as well. But, as I always say, timing. It's not the right timing for her character. She has just been thrown into this match without and build up at all. And with no mandatory re-matches for the championships anymore, I doubt WWE will take this direction. It would have made a great storyline with rematches between the 2 horsewomen going back and forth for the women’s title in the upcoming months, in an ideal case scenario.
This leaves us with Lacey, Naomi and Tamina. Out of these 3, Lacey Evans has been amazing as both a heel earlier and now as a babyface. If she defeats the top heel on SmackDown in the form of Bayley, with Bayley blaming Sasha for her loss and Lacey capitalising, it gives us both the stories going forward.
Lacey Evans also has the support of the entire WWE Universe by her side as well, which makes for a fairy-tale ending to a year long run on the main roster by one of the most upcoming talent and an underdog story, as Vince likes to see happening on the biggest stage of WrestleMania.

7. The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles
This is yet another gimmick match coming from the phenom, the Undertaker as a Boneyard Match. As much as I am looking forward to seeing this happen, with the phenomenal one, calling out the phenom week after week, taking shots at his personal life too, I have no idea what a Boneyard Match is going to look like.
From what I saw on wikipedia, this match takes me to a Buried-Alive match section so I am guessing one of the competitors would need to throw the opponent into a boneyard or something similar.
WrestleMania is the deadman’s playground and AJ Styles is the newest SOB on the block. If this match happened even 5 years ago, it would have stolen the show, but the time is not on the Undertaker’s side anymore, and even though one cannot just write him off yet, he is nowhere near his prime and his recent performances have shown that the deadman is, in fact, just a mere mortal.
The dirt sheets have written all about how the Undertaker would be appearing as the American Badass for this match, but all I can say is that the gimmick would suit the deadman better, so take everything you happen to come across on the internet with a pinch of salt.
The build up to this match with a heel AJ and Undertaker as the babyface has been fun to watch and if the match turns out great would be a show-stealer.
My pick: AJ Styles
With the best of his years behind him, Undertaker needs to put over AJ in this match. Thats what the business is like, the streak has long ended and AJ Styles has a great run ahead of him. He has shown his potential as the WWE Champion in the past and dancing with the likes of John Cena and Daniel Bryan whilst being the Champ. In the recent times though, he has seemed to be lost on the red brand with nothing major happening for him and him getting stuck in the midcard.
He needs the Undertaker’s rub to get him back into the main event picture to challenge whoever walks out of the event as the WWE Champion.

8. Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins
Oh how the tables have turned! We have seen this rivalry in action back in 2016 with the introduction of the Universal Championship on Raw and Triple H screwing Seth to pick Owens as the champion instead, with KO becoming the biggest heel on the red brand.
Fast forward to 2020, and here we see KO in all his glory as a babyface, dropping stunners left-right-and-centre just like Steve Austin during the Monday Night Wars.
Seth Rollins is the Monday Night Messiah, having an alliance in AOP and (Buddy) Murphy, and turning heel for the first time since 2016.
This is a good vs bad story waiting for the story to be told, WrestleMania would just be the perfect finish for this story with the good-guy-underdog overthrowing the bad guys alliance here. And just for this reason -
My pick: Kevin Owens
Classic good guy vs bad guy match culminating at the grandest stage of them all. I could not picture any other ending than the good-guy coming out on top, rising against the odds (interference by Murphy and AOP) and maybe some support from the original stunners too (Hey Steve, please raise some hell at WrestleMania!) and maybe someone else returning (difficult to picture that inside such a small venue like WWE PC)?

9. SmackDown Tag Team Titles: The Miz and John Morrison (c) vs. The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) vs. The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso)
The gimmick for this title match will be, a ladder match!
No surprises here, but WWE will hope to recreate the magic that the original TLC match at WrestleMania 17 did with the Hardys, the Dudleys and Edge & Christian, triple threat TLC match. (The 3 teams started gaining momentum after their ladder match at WM 2000 which happened a year earlier.)
After 9 years, John Morrison returned to the WWE for the first time since 2011 and immediately teaming up with his former Dirtsheet co-host The Miz and entering the tag-team picture. Their opponent are both highly decorated teams, the Usos and the New Day,  both tag specialists unlike these 2 individuals joining to form a team, and being multiple time tag team champions.
There is absolutely no reason for me to see the Miz and Morrison coming out on top in this match. With the triple threat ladder match as the stipulation for this match, I can promise you one thing - this will be the top eligible to get the award for the match of the night, for sure!
Look for the original Dudley tributes (D-Von, get the tables!) during the match and high spots with Kofi Kingston being involved in the mix and jumping from the highest of ladders onto whoever is beneath. This is going to be a fun match with all 6 superstars involved going in as favourites to win.
My pick: The Usos!
One of my favourite tag teams of all time, I pick the Usos to win this match, just because I think they could do with this win over the New Day who have enough momentum for them going at all times. The Usos could use a run with the titles right now since they have been out of the picture for some time and could use a WrestleMania moment to give them an extra push.

10. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) (c) vs. Austin Theory and Angel Garza (with Zelina Vega)
On the Raw side of things the tag title scene is not as colourful with the highly popular Street Profits defending their titles against a random thrown together team of Austin Theory and Angel Garza.
Both the contenders have recently debuted on the red brand with the common denominator being Andrade’s manager Zelina Vega banding them together. Austin Theory replaced Andrade, who has not been cleared to enter the match, at the last minute.
With the huge momentum for the Street Profits going into the event, I really think this would be a short match to say the least and the winners would easily be:
My pick: The Street Profits!
Any other result for this match would be a huge upset and even though Zelina Vega adds a big wild card to this match being on the outside, I would have chosen her team only if Andrade was still participating.

11. Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley (with Lana)

Amazing athletes both of them, but not much going for either.
I am a big fan of Aleister Black and want to see him have his WrestleMania moment, but this match with Bobby Lashley does nothing for him and his character development.
As for Bobby Lashley, with Lana by his side, I would have preferred having the feud with Rusev now rather than earlier, with the culmination of the entire feud in a WrestleMania match. Critics might oppose me about the feud between Lashley and Rusev being lacklustre, but I found it entertaining and apparently so did the rest of the audience.
Anyway, I am not very excited about this match because of a lack of story leading up to the actual feud between these 2 amazing superstars apart from featuring them on the card here.
My pick: Aleister Black.

12. Elias vs. King Corbin

Here’s another example of 2 extraordinary individuals being thrown together to have a match on the show of shows to have their WrestleMania moment.
King (Baron?) Corbin is currently the biggest heel (villain) in the business and gets immediate boos as soon as he enters. Similarly, Elias has a popularity unlike any other, and even though it has faded over the years. I do see Elias (aka the Drifter) being the next face of the WWE and would carry the company for years to come.
They have built up this feud at the last minute with the SmackDown from last Friday, 27th March 2020, being the biggest highlight with the King throwing the Drifter down to the mat from atop the WWE PC perch.
Being the competitive individuals that they both are, this match would probably be worth looking forward to, and might just consist of one of this year’s WM moments we look for years to come.
My pick: King Corbin!
With the majority of my picks being babyfaces, typical of a fairytale ending to any feud, this win deserves to go to the biggest heel in the industry at the moment. He needs to beat up a popular face/tweener like Elias to cement himself as the villain that he is.
Please sound your opinions about this match in the comments section and I would love to reply.

13. Edge vs. Randy Orton
Last Man Standing match. Wow. Just wow. Especially looking forward to this match.
Edge returned to wrestling after a career threatening injury which made him leave wrestling immediately after Wrestlemania 27, in 2011.  He returned as a surprise entrant in this year’s Royal Rumble match to the biggest pop I have heard in the longest time.
Its been 9 long years since Edge had a pro-wrestling singles match not just in the WWE but anywhere. Having been a life long fan of wrestling before becoming a wrestler himself, Edge had to unexpectedly walk away from the world of pro-wrestling in 2011 but his heart was always in wrestling.
The story leading upto this match with Randy ignited on the Raw after Royal Rumble when a Randy asked Edge to reunite Rated RKO (tag team name for Orton and Edge) but quickly turned on him and delivered him an RKO (outta nowhere!). He then proceeded to beat him up with chairs, in a move made famous by Edge himself from back in the TLC days.
Edge was forced to remain out with an injury in the coming weeks and earlier in March, his wife Beth Phoenix appeared on Raw to provide an update about Edge but Orton confronted her and she slapped him, and surprise surprise, Beth Phoenix got hit by an RKO (outta nowhere!). This infuriated Edge and on the following week he tried to hit and RKO of his own to Randy and challenged him to a match at WrestleMania!
This feud has become personal with Randy Orton hitting Edge’s wife and calling out Edge’s children’s names as well. We got to see where this one goes.
I am a bit sad for Edge though, being his return match in the WWE and with the circumstances leading upto this event, it would have to happen in front of an empty arena. WrestleMania is one event where the crows plays as much of a part as the performers themselves!
My pick for this match: Edge!
No surprises here. It’s Edge’s return match, and there is a lot riding on this match, with Orton making the feud personal involving Edge’s family. I have no doubt that Edge is going to win, although I am genuinely interested in how they tell the story inside the squared circle.

14. Intercontinental title: Sami Zayn (c) (with Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura) vs. Daniel Bryan (with Drew Gulak)

So after years of performing on the main roster Sami Zayn finally got his due in the form of the Intercontinental Championship victory and will also FINALLY get to have a singles match on the grandest stage of them all against none other than the ultimate underdog, Daniel Bryan!
This is one match I am looking forward to, just because of the sheer build up it got. It was slow but steady and Sami has been perfecting being the best heel, almost over a year since he turned. His alliance with Shinsuke and Cesaro made me think that maybe he has retired from in-ring competition and just when I thought that he is done, I saw him win his first title on the main roster in the WWE!
Daniel Bryan has been struggling in the mid card ever since he lost his WWE Championship at last year’s WrestleMania, and having played both heel and babyface in this past year, getting ‘coached’ by Drew Gulak made both of them relevant! Bryan has won the Intercontinental Championship in the past on the Grandest Stage and has typically been in a title scene entering WrestleMania multiple times throughout his career, either walking in or walking out a champion. But this year, I just do not see him winning the title at all.
My pick: Sami Zayn
I absolutely love the guy, no matter whether he is playing a babyface or a heel. He deserves the Intercontinental title run for at least a bit more time. People are enjoying him on the mic and his in-ring performances have impressed even the mightiest of people (he debuted in the WWE against John Cena!) over the years.
I want him to continue being the champion and could see him get better with time and of course in the bigger picture, one of his allies in Cesaro or Shinsuke will turn on him for the title, but lets leave those feuds for a later stage, both of those will make for amazing opponents for the IC title.

15. Women’s Tag Team Titles: The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) (c) vs. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross

Introduced just over a year ago, its difficult to believe how low this title has fallen if you think about how neglected it has been.
None of these teams, are ‘real teams’ anyway, with both being a pair of individual athletes thrown together randomly.
Don’t take me wrong here, I genuinely admire every single one of these 4 competitors here but do not take them seriously as a team. The Kabuki Warriors consist of Asuka and Kairi Sane, both of whom were unstoppable forces graduating out of NXT during their respective debuts.
Alexa Bliss is a decorated singles women’s superstar and along with Nikki Cross , they were the previous tag team champions before the Kabuki Warriors overthrew them.
My pick: The Kabuki Warriors
This has got to be a random pick from my side, since I do not see any reason why they should drop the titles to Alexa and Nikki. I like the chemistry between Asuka and Kairi and ever since they became a tag team, Asuka has been a little more relevant rather than be stuck in the mix and try becoming a better heel.

16. Otis vs. Dolph Ziggler (with Mandy Rose)
I placed this match at the end for a reason. I absolutely love this match and is one of the reasons I am looking forward to watching WrestleMania this year.
Otis and Mandy have a cute storyline going into the show of shows and Dolph is like the third wheel who happened to come in the middle of the hero and heroine and no one really likes him.
The story started back around Valentine’s Day, when Otis had asked out Mandy to go on a date with him. Dolph happened to crash their date and saw Mandy waiting for Otis and joined her. Otis received a message from Mandy’s phone (which Mandy did not send) telling him that he will not be able to make it, and also sees her sitting with Dolph, which broke his heart.
Further the story played out with Otis confronting Mandy and when Mandy denied sending a text Otis tried to apologise, which Mandy refused to accept. Further Mandy and Dolph have started dating and Dolph costed Heavy Machinery (Otis and Tucker) a potential tag team title match at WrestleMania which infuriates Otis even more, since Dolph distracted him showing pictures with Dolph and Mandy together.
What started off as a personal rivalry involving God’s greatest creation (as Corey Graves liked to put it, Hi Mandy!) between these two has taken a different angle now and this match has turned into a grudge match for the 2 individuals who look to settle it at WrestleMania.
My Pick: OTIS, ofcourse!
Oh come on, can’t you see this happening, Otis needs this. He has already lost the love of his life, he needs at least this win to keep his hopes up. His life deserves this win over the evil Dolph who already has the girl.
Mandy Rose is the x-factor in the feud, who can play a critical role in the match. Needless to say it will be a WrestleMania moment for all competitors involved!
I cannot remember Dolph Ziggler having a singles match on WrestleMania, in forever, so this should be an interesting one for him as well. I would love to see Dolph win in a crazy weirded way too, and sealing the win with a kiss with Mandy Rose in front of the entire world (watching on TV!)

That’s all for this year’s WrestleMania preview, please let me know what makes you tune into the world of pro-wrestling in these dire times and how is wrestling helping you cope with the lockdown and quarantine.

Let us know in the comments which matches excite you the most and which ones you think you disagree with from my preview.

Wrestlemania 35 predictions

My predictions for the show of shows, WWE Wrestlemania 35 due to be held in NY/NJ at the MetLife Stadium on April 7, 2019. 1          Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins; Singles match for the WWE Universal Championship Brock Lesnar is the beast incarnate who does not seem to be defeatable by anyone, Seth Rollins has one up against the beast at Wrestlemania 31, when SR cashed in his MITB contract for the WWE Championship. What could have been a perfect build up has been a lacklustre one, all thanks to the part time status of the beast, Brock Lesnar who has been carrying around the Universal title on his shoulder for the better portion of the last 2 years, having first won it after defeating Goldberg at Wrestlemania 33, in 2017. With the top title missing from the so-called flagship show for such a long time, I guess Raw misses its champion and its about time that it got a full-time superstar as a champion. My prediction here would be the Beast/King Slayer who need...

WWE Money in the Bank | MITB | Preview | Sunday, May 10, 2020

WWE's Money In The Bank 2020. A preview. One of the most popular PPVs of the year, WWE presents Money in the Bank (MITB) one week from this Sunday, on May 10, 2020. Over the years this is one of the shows which is most looked forward to. The MITB ladder match was originally a gimmick match created for Wrestlemania 21 and was a yearly affair at the show of shows before becoming a PPV of its own in 2010. Further the 2017 edition had the first ever women's MITB ladder match and that too has become a parallel match for people to look forward to every year as the show is being built up.  MITB ladder match is a ladder match to retrieve a briefcase hanging high above the ring. The briefcase contains a contract for the winner of the match who could cash in the contract for a guaranteed World Championship match or the Women's Championship match for either brands' top title of their choosing, valid for upto a year. The exciting aspect of the match is such t...

My review of WrestleMania 35 - The best Mania in years where dreams came true!

My review of WrestleMania 35: Oh, what an event it was, probably the first WrestleMania or any WWE event I had been excited about in the longest time! The men’s and women’s title matches were built up perfectly and the whole event came around in the best manner possible, and the show of shows lived up to the hype and delivered more than what I expected it to! As the crowds started pouring into the MetLife Stadium, the pre-show started with the 205 Live’s main title defense, the WWE Cruiserweight championship being defended, which was followed by the men’s and women’s battle royals. Nothing exciting here as such, but there was one other match on the pre-show which was a last minute setup for the WWE Raw Men’s Tag Team Championship, with the champs – The Revival aka #FTR defending against Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins (Major brothers!); and guess what? The team of Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins won! Curt Hawkins had a losing streak of 269 losses with 0 wins, which had started back in 2017! Th...
